When your camera states one of these errors (or ERR20 / ERR30), it also tells you to turn off your camera and remove the battery, and put the battery back in.
Try these steps:
Power Cycle: Turn the camera OFF, remove the battery for a few minutes, then reinsert it and turn it back ON.
Lens & Contacts: Detach the lens, gently wipe the electronic contacts on both the lens and camera body with a clean, dry microfiber cloth, then remount the lens securely.
Memory Card: Remove the memory card, then try taking a picture (it might show another error, but see if Err 20 clears). Reinsert the card if it works.
Hard Reset: Remove the battery, lens, and memory card. Turn the camera ON and let it sit for a few minutes. Turn it OFF, reinstall the battery and card, then try again.
If these steps does not work and the error is persistent - this means that the camera has an internal mechanical failure.
Unfortunately this means that your camera needs to be replaced. Please contact us to replace your camera through chat or by contacting your Account Manager.
