Photos are not uploading

Sometimes your photos won't upload from the Capture Tower or Capture Box. There can be multiple reasons for this. Read on to find out.

QUICK START GUIDE:

  1. Check internet connection

  2. Check your queue

  3. Check your settings

  4. Format SD-card

  5. Make sure settings are not lost

STEPS EXPLAINED:

Step 1. Check your internet connection

Our Capture Towers, Capture Boxes, Order Stations and Print Stations should all always be connected to the internet by wire. Wi-Fi is possible, but the speed needs to be at least 20Mbit/s to guarantee that the entire flow from capturing to ordering to printing works optimally.

First check whether the tablet has an internet connection. If the Wi-Fi icon in the top right is red, the tablet is not connected to the internet.

If this is the case, check the wire coming from the bottom of the Capture Tower and follow it to the socket where it's connected. Try another socket to check if that is the problem. Contact your IT department to investigate further if needed.

Step 2. Check your queue

If there are photos in your queue, the Wi-Fi icon is green and the queue is not decreasing, always first try turning the entire Capture Tower off and on again. If that doesn't work, it might be a corrupted file. To check this, press the purple QUEUE button and remove the very first photo in the queue.

Step 3. Check your queue

If the queue is still not moving, you may be taking pictures with incorrect settings. Check whether your camera is taking photos with the correct ratio as in your CMS. If your CMS is set up to accept 3:2 ratio photos, the camera settings need to reflect this. The same goes for a 4:3 ratio of course. To change this, press menu and change the settings on the first page.

It's also possible that your quality settings are not correct. We always take pictures with the S1 quality setting, if it's set to something else, change it back.

Step 4. Format SD-Card

If your camera is taking pictures, but they aren't showing in the queue of your tablet, there might be a corrupted file on the SD-Card. Go to Menu and find the logo of the wrench, there you can select Format Card.

Step 5. Make sure settings are not lost

After changing settings on the Canon camera, always turn it off with the switch on top, and turn it on again. This is how it saves the new settings. If you do not do this and turn the camera off by turning off the entire Capture Tower, the settings might not be saved.
