Capture App - Capture flow

Step-by-step explanation on how to take photos with the Capture App.

With the latest Capture App update (available from mid-May 2026), the capture flow has been improved to make the experience smoother and more intuitive.

Below, you’ll find an overview of how the app works and what to expect during the capture process.

Start Screen

After logging in, you’ll land on the start screen. This screen (and the following screens) have a default design, but it can also be customised to match your branding. From here, you can:

  • Scan a PhotoPass → Start capturing a photo

  • Triple tap the top of the screen → Open the settings page

Capture Flow

When a PhotoPass is scanned, the app will guide you through the following steps:

  1. Get Ready screen appears

  2. A countdown starts (default: 3 seconds)

    • Countdown colours can be customised

    • Countdown duration can be adjusted in the settings

  3. The photo is captured

  4. A photo preview is shown (default: 4 seconds)

    • Preview duration can be adjusted in the settings

  5. The app returns to the start screen

Live Preview

You can enable Live Preview in the settings for a more interactive experience.

When this feature is enabled, the capture flow changes slightly:

  • The app opens the live camera view

  • Guests can see themselves before the photo is taken

On top of the live view, the following elements are displayed:

  • “Get Ready!” message

  • Countdown timer

After that:

  • The photo is captured

  • A photo preview is shown (default: 4 seconds)

    • Preview duration can be adjusted in the settings

  • The app returns to the start screen

Photo Confirmation

In the standard flow, photos are automatically uploaded after the preview.

When Photo Confirmation is enabled in the settings, photographers can choose whether to keep or retake their photo.

How it works:

  1. Get Ready screen appears

  2. Countdown starts

  3. Photo is captured

  4. Preview is shown

During the preview, two options appear:

  • Reject photo
→ The photo is deleted and the countdown starts again

  • Confirm photo
→ The photo is uploaded and the app returns to the start screen

If no choice is made:

  • The photo is automatically uploaded

  • The app returns to the start screen
